ROTARY FOUNDATION OVERVIEW

The Rotary Foundation transforms your gifts into projects that change lives both close to home and around the world.  As the charitable arm of Rotary, the Rotary Foundation utilises a global network of Rotary members who invest their time, money, and expertise into our priorities, such as eradicating polio and promoting peace.

WHERE YOU CAN DONATE FUNDS

There are a range of different funds through which members, and clubs, can choose to direct the donations they make to the Rotary Foundation.  These include -

  • Annual Fund - choices within the Annual Fund include SHARE though which contributions are transformed in to District and Global grants to help support projects, the World Fund where gifts are spent where most needed, and funds which are directed to a specific area of focus.
  • PolioPlus Fund - where contributions are directed to the End Polio Now campaign and matched 2:1, thanks to the Gates Foundation.
  • Endowment Fund - Rotary strives to increase the value of your gift to the Endowment by preserving and investing your initial contribution and spending only a portion of the earnings.
  • Disaster Response Fund - provides funds that are made available to clubs and Districts to respond to natural disasters.
  • Featured Causes or Named Grants - funds are directed to address a specific need or project

HOW TO DONATE

The easiest, and preferred, way to donate both at an individual and club level, is online.  Through the online giving process you can choose both one off and recurring donations and where the donation should be directed.  It is highly recommended that you login to MyRotary when you are making donations to ensure they can be tracked for recognition purposes (see below).  For donations on behalf of a club, this can be done by designated club officers (President, Secretary, Treasurer and Rotary Foundation Chair) whilst logged in.

For alternative donation options, including bank transfers and bank cheques, please visit the Rotary Foundation Australia website.   You may also find the guides below useful -

RECOGNITION

Contributions to the Foundation are recognised in many different ways for both individuals and clubs.  Recognition is dependent on the specific fund to which contributions are made.  For example, Paul Harris Fellow recognition (see below) is for contributions to the Annual Fund, PolioPlus, or an approved Foundation Grant.
